Winter Alatau

Winter Alatau

Dates: 23-27 January and 20-24 February
*We’re happy to organise the programme on dates to suit your group – please contact us for more information.

Freeride below the treeline in the Zailiiskiy Alatau – spend your winter enjoying the snowy slopes far from the pistes and lifts!

A five-day skitour programme, with accommodation near the Medeu ice rink, located at 1,700m in the Medeu valley below the Shymbulak ski resort. We’ll ride new spots every day, focussing on couloirs, valleys and peaks below the treeline.
As well as freeride this programme will give you the chance to practice your mountain skills, including using avalanche gear, analysing slopes and snow cover to determine the level of avalanche danger, choosing the safest routes up and down the mountain, and working in groups in the backcountry.
