Yuliya is the founder and Programme Director of the FrozenRocks freeride project.
She’s been skiing for ten years and is currently studying for a qualification with the KMGA (Kyrgyz Mountain Guides Association).
Yuliya considers herself an activist for the development of freeride culture in Kazakhstan. Her backcountry experience includes Tuyuk-Su, the Alps (Austria, France), the Dolomites, the Indian Himalayas (Gulmarg), Kyrgyzstan (Karakol, Susamyr etc), Russia (Siberia), the Caucasus (Gudauri, Kazbegi), and others.
She’s been a prizewinner in multiple outdoor sport competitions including in skyrunning and skitouring, and has many years of experience of expeditions, treks and other outdoor activities. But for the past few years she has been totally focussing on backcountry skiing: freeride, skitouring and ski mountaineering.
