Peak Ozerny (4,126 m) is located above Big Almaty Lake and forms part of the same mountain system. The northern slopes are covered in snow and ice. The southern slopes are covered with scree – and are in fact in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
The summit is dome-shaped, and some of the slopes on the descent are as steep as 45 degrees.
